Artist as Social Commentator

Through writing analytical, response papers, documenting through keeping a journal, taking notes, and collecting all information I can, I created a process in which I could develop and explore my research question. I began with a simple interest in the Situationist movement and art with a message. But my end result was a three prong thesis delving into the notion of the artist as social commentator as seen in French art, an ongoing dialogue between the history of art and contemporary art, and the contemporary art festival where artists all over the world will create art around a central theme concerning the world we live in.
